Hi Friends,

Some of you mentioned that the re-mothering topic from last week was very timely. I want to stay with that for a little; with the softness towards ourselves. Boy, have we been hard on ourselves, and still are at times. These habits don't change overnight but little by little until you don't even have to think about using them.

Back to Myself: Small Habits That Changed My Life

For years, I lived in survival mode. Getting things done, pushing through, staying strong – always moving forward. Until one day, I realized I missed me. Not the version of me who managed everything, but the softer, feminine part of me that I had left behind somewhere along the way.

The journey back to myself wasn’t loud or dramatic. It came through the quiet, gentle habits that slowly anchored me in my day – and over time, transformed my life in the most profound way.

Here are some of those habits. Maybe one of them speaks to you too:

20+ Small Habits That Helped Me Reconnect with My Feminine Energy:

  1. Drinking my coffee mindfully – taking time without rushing.

  2. Leaving the house a little earlier, just so I could walk slowly.

  3. Listening to calm music when stressed– instead of ignoring it.

  4. Getting up in time to stretch and take my time with my morning routine.

  5. Incorporating walks and stretching – movement can be gentle.

  6. Washing my face slowly and with care, even when I’m tired.

  7. Putting on lip balm or hand cream during the day – as a mini reset.

  8. Wearing my hair loosely instead of tight clips  – releasing tension, inviting softness.

  9. Asking for help, even when my old self wanted to do it all alone.

  10. Creating a little space just for sitting – no to-do’s allowed.

  11. Buying myself flowers – for no reason other than I deserve them and love them.

  12. Noticing my tone of voice – am I speaking from my heart or just functioning?

  13. After conversations, asking myself: How did my body feel during that?

  14. Swapping hype playlists for healing music – mood follows sound.

  15. Looking at my reflection gently – not scanning, just seeing.

  16. Choosing clothes that make me feel beautiful, not just “practical.”

  17. Swapping leggings for flowing fabrics – even at home, ease is welcome.

  18. Wearing a scent that reminds me of my soft side.

  19. Gently moisturizing my body – as in daily taking care of my body.

  20. Telling myself “That’s enough for today” – and consciously closing the laptop or other unfinished task.

And then, there are three deeply personal habits that opened my heart:

  1. Walking barefoot on the beach.

The sound of the waves, the feeling of the sand – nothing grounds me like this. It slows my breath and brings me fully into the now.

  2. Calling my friends regularly.

Not just checking in or catching up. But to talk. To laugh. To listen and be heard. No agenda. Just connection.

  3. Writing in my journal – letters to my brother who passed away.

It’s a sacred space. A conversation between my soul and his. I tell him what I’m feeling, what I miss, what I need. What I did. And sometimes, I feel his reply – not in words, but in my heart.

These habits didn’t change me overnight but they gently brought me back to my feminine energy. To my center. To my softness. And that shift changed everything – my body, my relationships, my whole way of being.

Being feminine does not mean being weak. It means having permission to be soft. To be in alignment with myself. And when I am, it radiates – inside and out.

This week's affirmation:

I return to myself, one soft moment at a time.
