tuesday thoughts and confidence

Hi Friends, What did you implement last week? Today I want to share about confidence. I find it interesting that the Latin root for confidence is: confidens=firmly trusting, bold, to have full trust or reliance. I love that. Firmly trusting. I was inspired this morning as I was listening to a talk by Linda Potgier on how to show up with confidence in the marketplace. She is an internationally known style coach for women. She teaches women to dress up, show up and be a bold shining light. Why is this so needed? There are many answers to this question. One of them is that especially Christian women have been taught to stay in the background, be silent and dress a certain way. But that's another topic for another day. I used to believe that confidence was something that some people were born with. Thank goodness I was wrong. You and I can learn confidence, because confidence is a skill. I am actively learning to get better at this skill. So can you. Michael Phelps (see picture) wasn't born an Olympic athlete. His height of 6 foot 4 doesn't hurt of course, but you better believe that he worked his butt off to be the most decorated Olympian of all time. (correct me if I'm wrong, as that might have changed during the recent summer Olympics). He trained in the early hours of the morning, for years. He trained practicing with water in his goggles and other handicaps that might happen during a swim. Why? So he is prepared in case these things happen and so that he would not be deterred from the goal. Confidence. Firmly trusting, bold, to have full trust or reliance. Now you don't need to become an Olympic athlete to practice your confidence skill. I'll give you a simple example that takes no special physical strength or brain power. I am confident that I will find a heart shaped object when I am out for a walk. Why? Because I am skilled at looking for it. I have trained my eyes to search and find. I have found rocks, shells, leaves, tire tracks in the snow, a potato, peppers on a pizza, a strawberry, and many more. It’s so much fun now, as my children now send me pictures when they spot one. My daughter was kayaking the other day and showed me a picture of an underwater heart shaped leaf. My oldest son gave me a heart shaped rock that he found as he was skipping rocks with his younger brother. I gave you these two extremes, so you can find a skill that you want to be more confident in. If it is dressing to connect, please go to Linda's Fb page and learn from an expert. https://www.facebook.com/groups/dresstoconnect I am here for you if you want to show up in this world with more confidence. I am skilled at helping you with that. I have confidence for the both of us. You will leave my coaching with your head held a little higher and shoulders pulled back a little more. Try it. Take me up on my free discovery call. Just reply to this e mail. Nothing to lose, so much to gain. So many doors will be opened to you when you show up with confidence. I can't wait to see you go through these doors.

PS: Message me for a free consult to start moving toward a more confident you.

You are loved. Deeply loved. Loved beyond measure.
