how are you?
Are you and your spouse or you and your parents/in laws, sisters, brothers disagreeing about how to behave during the corona virus?
Do you have a mask/no mask argument? Stay in/go out disagreement ?
You might not be on the same page. And you are frustrated. Or angry or you don't care anymore.
Let me assure you that they are not doing what they are doing to upset you!!!
They are responsible adults who have made a decision. Can you see that? Can you see their side?
You might be on the worried side and your spouse is on the not worried side.
You both came to your conclusions based on your beliefs and makeup.
For example, If your spouse works outside the house and you are deeply worried, can you ask him/her directly to act on some safety measures? You can ask, and ask in love.
And see if your spouse or loved ones agree or not.
You want to come to a middle ground.
You both have strong opinions. It's no use trying to change the other's beliefs. What you can do is talk about it and find the common ground.
You'll be happier for it.
Don't try to convince. Listen to your loved one's opinion. No judgement. Don't try to control. Give up your need to be right, and there won't be any defenses going up!!
That's not easy.
